Restoration project
Bringing a 1996 Land Cruiser 80 back to the road: lights, seals and the small parts nobody stocks
Rarespec workshop· 5 September 2026· 1 min read· Toyota parts
The brief
The owner wanted the truck to look and drive like it left the factory, using genuine or used-original parts wherever possible.
What we sourced
| Part | Route | Lead time |
|---|---|---|
| Headlamp assemblies (RH/LH) | Genuine Toyota, imported from Japan | 12 days |
| Door weather-strips | Used original, photographed before payment | In stock |
| Rear tail lamp lenses | Refurbished original | 3 days |
Tips if you are doing the same
- Send us the VIN / chassis number first — the 80 series changed lamps in 1995.
- Ask for photos of used parts; we always send them before you pay.
- Order the seals with the lamps; they rarely survive removal.
